Reinventing Co-Working Spaces: Distrii

Creating a Unique and Hospitality-Driven Workspace

The design concept for Distrii was inspired by the nature of co-working and the idea of creating a community within the space. To achieve this, the designers incorporated biophilic elements such as greenery, wood, and natural light, creating an environment that brings the outdoors inside. This nature-inspired design not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the space but also provides a sense of calm and tranquility for its users.

One of the unique features of Distrii is its integration of smart technology. The workspace is equipped with a mobile application backed by a cloud-based system and IoT technology, providing users with access to office tools and social circles. This seamless integration of technology enhances productivity and collaboration, making Distrii a truly innovative co-working space.

Distrii offers a variety of workspaces to cater to different needs. From private workspaces to customizable team spaces and multi-purpose halls, the design ensures that there is a balance between social and private spaces. This flexibility allows individuals and teams to work in a way that suits them best, fostering creativity and collaboration.

The Distrii co-working space is located in Republic Plaza, Singapore, and spans across six floors with a total area of 62,000 square feet. It can accommodate up to 900 workstations, as well as private workspaces and customisable team spaces. Additionally, it features a 200-pax capacity multi-purpose hall and a food & beverage outlet, providing a complete and convenient work environment.

DB&B, the design team behind Distrii, conducted extensive research to ensure that the space met the needs of a co-working environment. They consulted with the client to understand their business goals and offer recommendations in space planning and allocation. The integration of the client's proprietary enterprise collaboration and productivity tools was a key challenge that the design team successfully overcame.

The Distrii co-working space has received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2019 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award acknowledges the creativity and resourcefulness of the design, as well as its contribution to improving the quality of life for its users.
